Oseng‑Rees Reflection Designing Bespoke Awards for Belron’s Global Competition best of Belron 2026
A few years ago, Belron approached Oseng-Rees Reflection Ltd. with a simple but intriguing question: “Is it possible to use car glass in your process?” At the time, nothing was certain. I had never worked with car glass before. But that question sparked a collaborative journey that has shaped years of experimentation and innovation.
Two years ago, this exploration led to a series of high‑polished luxury awards for the Best of Belron competition in Portugal, where the global winner came from Belron Canada Inc. Since then, Belron has continued to return with new commissions, each one pushing boundaries, inspiring new approaches, and expanding what’s possible with this remarkable material.
It has been an immense privilege to work with Belron once again to create the awards, trophies, medallions, and commercial gifts for this year’s prestigious global competition. Contributing handcrafted pieces to an event of this scale, and for a company with such extraordinary international reach and reputation, is an honour to truly be proud of.
Exploring the hidden colours within windscreens, greens, blues, greys, and almost‑black tones most people never notice, has become a central part of the work. Slowly, what began as “waste” material revealed its potential to become something meaningful.
This year’s standout creation is the winner’s trophy, crafted from black privacy glass and finished to a high polish. This striking piece began its life as waste car glass and has been transformed into a bold, one‑of‑a‑kind award that reflects both craftsmanship and sustainability. The same recycled‑glass approach was used for the event’s thank‑you gifts, designed in the shape of a windscreen and made entirely from repurposed black privacy glass.
